MEMORANDUM – COVID-19 Update

January 27, 2021

Dear Canterbury Residents, Employees, Family Members, Trustees, and Community Partners,

We have learned of another staff member that has tested positive for Covid-19 as part of their regular testing. They are not currently showing any symptoms. This staff member does not work in healthcare. Contact tracing has been done in accordance with our policies and protocols. At this time, we have 5 active cases of Covid-19 in our community, 4 staff members and 1 resident.

Last week we announced our policy that all employees will be required to have received all necessary doses of the Covid vaccine by June 1, 2021 as a condition of employment. We feel that this is a necessary step we must take to ensure the safety of our entire community, both our residents and our staff. Our second clinic for the vaccine will be held on February 1st. Any residents or staff who were not vaccinated at the last clinic will have the opportunity to get vaccinated at this clinic. First doses of the vaccine will not be administered, however, at the third clinic on February 22nd.
