Canterbury Court is looking for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our family. These positions are located in the long-term care division of our Life Plan Community (LPC). We invite you to experience Canterbury Court.

Responsibilities

CNAs will provide hands-on care to patients, as well as assist them in daily activities. They must have a sincere desire to serve older adults in a quality continuing care setting, providing dignity of all residents through a high standard of caring professional Assisted Living and Nursing services in accordance with state and federal government regulations.

Tasks

  • Turning or repositioning
  • Taking temperature, blood pressure, and other vital signs
  • Answering calls lights
  • Documenting health issues and report to nurses

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Completion of a state-approved CNA certification training course
  • Current certification in the State of Georgia.
  • Current AHA Healthcare Provider training (BCLS).
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to handle multiple tasks safely and effectively
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to communicate sensitive information with empathy

Preferred Education and Experience

  • One year of experience in a long-term care setting.

Canterbury Court is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Charge Nurse to join our family. This is a full-time position located in the long-term care division of our Life Plan Community (LPC). We invite you to experience Canterbury Court.

Responsibilities

The LPN charge nurse will provide care and treatment for our residents as prescribed by physicians and in accordance with state and federal government regulations while treating all matters with the highest level of confidentiality and respect. The LPN charge nurse will also oversee the work of certified nursing aides to ensure general care and monitoring of our residents are provided.

Tasks

  • Perform nursing functions using established procedures, policies, guidelines and standards as observed by the registered nurse.
  • Administer medication accurately, observing patient response, as evidenced by documentation in the medical record and lack of negative outcomes
  • Communicate effectively with patient and approved parties regarding plan of care.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team in coordination of the patient’s care.
  • Answer and refer telephone calls or other inquiries to ensure accurate and timely communications are facilitated.
  • Have a solid understanding of and compassion for human behavior, and the psychological development of the aged.

Education and Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Valid registration as an LPN in the state of Georgia.
  • Completion of relevant state Board of Nursing approved.
  • Current AHA Healthcare Provider training (BCLS).

Canterbury Court is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our family. This is a full-time position located in the Plant Operations division of our Life Plan Community (LPC). The Maintenance Technician must have a sincere desire to serve older adults in a quality continuing care setting and must strive to provide excellence and consistency in facilities.  We invite you to experience Canterbury Court.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing routine repairs and maintenance on equipment, building and grounds
  • Responsible for maintaining the building in good condition, keeping it free of hazards such as those caused by electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling systems, etc.
  • Changing filters in heating and air conditioning units
  • Keeps exterior grounds free of litter and keeps grounds watered regularly.
  • On call for emergencies
  • Assists with all in-house moves.
  • Keeps work areas and storage rooms neat and orderly.
  • Follows established safety rules and policies and procedures of the facility.
  • Performs minor interior and exterior repairs on both as scheduled and as-needed basis in compliance with established Maintenance Department safety rules, policies and procedures.
  • Performs painting, minor carpentry and structural work such as drywall repair/replacement and wallpapering.

 

Education and Experience

  • High School or GED equivalent
  • Must have thorough knowledge of general maintenance such as plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpet installation

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • At least two years’ previous facility maintenance experience. Must be in good mental and physical condition, able and willing to perform duties inside and outside when necessary.  Should be honest, possess good judgment, tact, compassion, and integrity.

Canterbury Court is looking for a Floor Technician/Houseman to join our family. This is a full-time position located in the Hospitality division of our Life Plan Community (LPC). We invite you to experience Canterbury Court.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general cleaning duties in apartments consisting of dusting furniture, vacuuming floors, emptying trash, changing bed linens, cleaning bathrooms and kitchen units thoroughly, sweeping balconies, washing glass doors, cleaning ceiling vents.
  • Cleans floor lounges which involves sweeping balconies, cleaning mirrors, dusting furniture, vacuuming carpets, washing windows, defrosting and cleaning refrigerators, cleaning stoves, ovens, and kitchen units.
  • Clean floor laundry rooms by mopping floors, cleaning dryer vents and washing appliances.
  • Performs other cleaning duties on floor chutes and floor hallways.
  • Maintains equipment which includes vacuums and carts.
  • Uses cleaning substances in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum grammar school education. Must be able to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Some experience helpful. Training will be provided for all required functions. Should be honest, possess good judgement, tact, compassion and integrity.

Canterbury Court is looking for a Prep Cook to join our family. This is a full-time position located in the Hospitality division of our Life Plan Community (LPC). The Prep Cook must have a sincere desire to serve older adults.  Constantly striving to provide the best in service through attention to detail and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares all hot food items required on the menu for all meals
  • Accurately prepares dishes according to recipes
  • Prepares food items as required by following the production sheets
  • Communicates daily regarding changes, problems special functions, etc.
  • Records food temperatures each meal and serves at the acceptable level
  • Washes all large equipment used in preparation with Sanitizer
  • Keeps work area clean, sanitize bucket
  • Utilizes all overproduced food items appropriately
  • Wraps, labels, dates, and stores all over-produced food items
  • Performs all duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

Ability to read and write and implement own work schedule.  Basic knowledge of the principles of food preparation and garnish as well as the ability to use certain kitchen equipment.  Must be mentally alert and possess accuracy in measuring food ingredients and portions.  Must be able to prepare foods of high quality in specified quantities.

Training and Experience

Experience desirable but not required.  Training will consist of one (1) week on the job training.

Servers must have a sincere desire to serve older adults.  Constantly striving to provide the best in service through attention to detail and efficiency.  Under the supervisor of the Director of Dining Services/Resident Dining Manager, the Waitress &Waiter courteously and professionally serves all residents and their guests meals in the dining room and may need to help serve and clean in the kitchen; maintains a neat and orderly work area and informs the Director of Dining Service or Dining Manager of food needs and resident likes and dislikes.

Tasks

  • General knowledge of all dining room functions and their timing.
  • Knowledge of accepted sanitation and service practices.
  • Must be mentally alert and able to cope with minor situations that may occur in the dining room.
  • Must be able to take and deliver orders.
  • General knowledge of all service equipment used in the dining room and kitchen (toaster, coffee maker, ice crusher, etc.).
  • Must be efficient at all dining service tasks.
  • Personal neatness is extremely important.
