Dear Canterbury Residents, Employees, Family Members, Trustees, and Community Partners,
Today we learned of two positive Covid-19 cases for residents in independent living. Our team is working with them to identify those they were in contact with 48 hours prior to symptom onset so that they can be quarantined and tested.
Though many of our residents and staff were vaccinated at our clinic on Monday, January 11th, the vaccine’s full efficacy is not in effect until 10 days after receiving the second dose. Even after the second does, the vaccine is not 100% effective. It is important that everyone continue to wear masks, social distance, and avoid indoor spaces where you cannot wear a mask.
Our second clinic for the vaccine will be held on February 1st. Any residents or staff who were not vaccinated at the last clinic will have the opportunity to get vaccinated at this clinic. First doses of the vaccine will not be administered, however, at the third clinic on February 22nd.
