MEMORANDUM – COVID-19 UPDATE

December 30, 2020

Dear Canterbury Residents, Employees, Family Members, Trustees, and Community Partners,

We have received news of two additional employees testing positive for Covid-19 that work in our nursing pavilion. Both were tested as part of our weekly testing protocols. Neither is currently showing any symptoms.   Many of our previously reported cases have recovered and only 4 of those cases are still active bringing our total number of current cases in the community to 6.

Over the holidays we also received notification from two employees that while they were on vacation they tested positive for Covid-19.  Both had been out of the community for a significant period before they began experiencing symptoms. They will remain out of the community until their quarantine period has been completed.

CVS has confirmed our first vaccination date for our healthcare residents and staff on January 11th.  They will be providing the Pfizer vaccine.  They will return on February 1st to provide the second dose. Staff members will be working with residents and their families to obtain consent forms to receive the vaccine. At this time, we do not have any confirmation for vaccinations for residents in independent living.
