Dear Canterbury Residents, Employees, Family Members, Trustees, and Community Partners,
We have received notification today of 4 additional residents who have tested positive for Covid-19. Three of these residents are on the 2nd floor and 1 resident is in Independent Living. The positive test for the Independent Living resident was a rapid response antigen test and we are following up with a PCR test to confirm. A few of our previously positive staff cases are now off quarantine and back to work. This brings our current total of active Covid cases to 5 staff members and 7 residents. Only 2 staff members are currently showing symptoms. The remaining 3 staff members will be off quarantine and able to return to work later this week. None of our residents are exhibiting symptoms. Two of the 7 residents, both of whom tested positive last week, have rested again this week with both a PCR and antigen test that were both negative. We are continuing to count them as positive.
Rapid antigen tests were done for all of our 1st and 2nd shift staff in healthcare today and all came back negative.
We do have some very positive news to share. We have received notice from CVS that we will be able to offer the vaccine on January 11th for our residents on the 2nd and 3rd floor as well as our staff. CVS will be onsite to administer the vaccine. We do not have details on which vaccine they will be providing. They will not be offering the vaccine on this date for our Independent Living residents, but we are working to try to find a solution for making the vaccine available to them as well sometime soon.
