MEMORANDUM – COVID-19 Update

Update as of April 10, 2020

Tonight, Canterbury Court was featured on Channel 2 News because of the presence of the National Guard at our community. Earlier this month Governor Kemp issued an executive order calling 2,000 National Guard troops to state active duty to address coronavirus in Georgia. Their mission is to clean and disinfect nursing homes across the state. Earlier this week we received a call from the National Guard offering their services. We scheduled them to come onsite today as a preventive measure to clean all of our common areas. Both the staff and residents were excited and appreciative of these additional efforts from the National Guard. As they were setting up, a neighbor called Channel 2 News reporting the activity she was witnessing with the National Guard. Justin Wilfon from Channel 2 news called us for a statement, and I shared with him the information from Governor Kemp’s order and that the measure was preventive.

We do not currently have any known or suspected cases of COVID-19 at our Community. I’m also thrilled to report that our resident that went out to the hospital with symptoms 3 weeks ago and was confirmed to be positive while at the hospital has recovered and is doing very well.

We feel strongly that as a result of our early measures to protect our community, we were able to prevent further transmission of COVID-19 at our campus.

Thank you all for your continued support for the Community. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at 470.381.6790 or any member of our Senior Leadership team.
