MEMORANDUM – COVID-19 UPDATE

November 13, 2020

Dear Canterbury Residents, Employees, Family Members, Trustees, and Community Partners,

Today we have learned of 1 additional Covid-19 positive case from a resident who lives in independent living but has connections to our second floor Nursing Pavilion. Previously we had shared that there are currently 3 staff members and 2 residents from our Pavilion bringing our total number of positive cases in our nursing home to 3 staff and 2 residents and now 1 in independent living.    There are no other active Covid-19 cases at this time in our community.  The staff members are showing mild symptoms and all affected residents are currently showing no signs or symptoms. Family members for these residents have been contacted.

We will continue with very strict safety precautions and infection control protocols that include quarantining the entire Nursing Pavilion, with staff utilizing full PPE when entering each apartment as well as twice a week testing for staff.  We strongly believe that our proactive testing measures have resulted in identifying positive cases quickly which have minimized transmission to others.
