Dear Canterbury Residents, Employees, Family Members, Trustees, and Community Partners,
Unfortunately, I am having to write again a second time this week. Since my last communication on Monday, we have learned that three additional staff members have tested positive for COVID-19.
We have initiated contact tracing and will be following our protocols for quarantining and/or monitoring for symptoms for the next 14 days. None of the staff members have had any direct contact with our residents. Our protocols are available on the Coronavirus Update section of our website at www.canterburycourt.org.
In an effort to protect our community, we have partnered with Viral Sign for enhanced screening technology for everyone who enters our building. The new technology takes a thermal image of the face and looks for asymmetry in addition to temperature which can be an indication of influenza type virus including the virus that causes COVID-19. Individuals who trigger as “risk” will not be allowed to enter the building. Those who trigger as “evaluate” will be asked additional screening questions to determine if they will be allowed to enter. Masks must be worn by everyone throughout our building and in our gardens.
We are partnering with CORE Response to provide free COVID testing this Friday, June 26th and Monday, June 29th from 9am – 4pm. This testing is mandatory for all employees. Residents, caregivers, family members, and community partners are strongly encouraged to be tested as well. Drive through testing will be available at the front of the building.
