MEMORANDUM – COVID-19 Update

April 21, 2020

Dear Canterbury Residents, Family Members, Trustees and Community Partners,

Yesterday Governor Kemp announced that beginning this Friday, April 24th, certain business including gyms, bowling alleys, salons, and massage therapists would be allowed to open again.  He indicated that these businesses will still be required to screen employees for fever, enhance sanitation efforts, require the wearing of masks and gloves, encourage teleworking, keep people at a distance of 6 feet, and consider staggered shifts.   Other business including theaters, personal clubs and restaurants will be allowed to reopen April 27th.

The remaining shelter-in-place order remains into effect until April 30th but “medically fragile and elderly” residents should continue to shelter-in-place until May 13th.

Canterbury’s current policies and protocols to protect our community will remain in place through May 13th at a minimum. We will continue to monitor what is happening in our state as well as the guidance from the Department of Health, CDC, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and LeadingAge as well as the best practices of other senior living communities to determine if any adjustments should be made.

Warmly,
