Our History

Canterbury Court, a Continuing Care Retirement Community, was established as a non-profit home for the retired in 1965 through the visionary efforts of Frank Player and Margaret Hancock. Frank, a member of All Saints’ Episcopal Church and Margaret, a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, both in Atlanta, Georgia, solicited the help of their rectors to sponsor All Saints’-St. Luke’s Episcopal Home for the Retired, Inc., also known as Canterbury Court. For over 45 years, Canterbury Court has served as a role model for full-service continuing care retirement communities.

Canterbury Court consists of three (3) towers. The original building, the North Tower, opened in 1965; Canterbury’s first expansion, the South Tower, opened in 1991 and the West Tower opened December 1, 2005.

Canterbury Court provides a beautiful and comfortable residence to seniors who seek the companionship of friends and the security of continuing care services and nursing care when needed. The goal of Canterbury Court is to continue the tradition of excellence that has become the hallmark of our reputation for today’s senior population.
